Colorado's first transgender state legislator, Brianna Titone, is now in her third term. Recently, in a moment that blended her leadership and personal journey, Brianna's authenticity and the power of her representation shown through in a moment where she dared some house colleagues to look at her as they advocated for anti-LGBTQ+ laws. Her presence, and her ability to listen, build bridges, and get results, has led her to be the first transgender legislator elected by peers to a leadership position. Brianna's story is one of an inspirational leader who serves as a link in the chain, building off the accomplishments of other leaders and creating the conditions for future LGBTQ+ leaders to be far more commonplace and to reach far greater heights.

Guest Biography
Representative Brianna Titone was elected in 2018 to represent Colorado House District 27 and is currently serving her third term in office. She was also elected as Co-Chair of the House Majority Caucus and Chair of the Colorado Democratic LGBTQ+ Caucus. She is the first openly transgender legislator in the Colorado General Assembly and the first transgender legislator in the nation elected by peers to a leadership position. She utilizes her background in geochemistry, software development, and LGBTQ+ advocacy to successfully legislate an agenda committed to safety, health, prosperity and equity. This session, she sponsored protections for accessing reproductive health care to protect and advance reproductive rights. Her legislative priorities reflect her commitment to representing her district and uplifting communities suffering from a lack of access to proper healthcare or protections from violence. She is an inspirational leader and a joy to speak with. |
