Chris Douglas is a wealth manager, civic leader, and award-winning LGBTQ+ advocate whose career has blended business success with courageous public engagement. As founder of C.H. Douglas & Gray Wealth Management, Chris brings a disciplined, client-centered approach to financial planning while also investing in the broader good—directing significant firm resources toward community organizations advancing equity, education, and the arts. A former Air Force officer and Princeton and Wharton graduate, Chris is known for his principled leadership under pressure. He founded the Indiana Log Cabin Republicans in the 1990s, becoming one of the first openly gay Republican figures in the state at a time of acute professional and personal risk. (He is now a registered Democrat.) He has since helped lead major civil rights efforts in Indiana, negotiating key nondiscrimination protections and defeating exclusionary legislation. His work has earned accolades such as the Indiana Leadership Forum’s Founders Award, the Damien Center’s Flo Elias Compassion Award, and the Indy Rainbow Chamber’s Community Leader of the Year Award. Chris believes that courage, compassion, and strategic clarity can coexist—and must—in the lives of LGBTQ leaders facing today’s challenges. Through his leadership in finance and activism, he remains committed to modeling resilience, bridging divides, and cultivating moral seriousness in public life. |
