Guest Biography
Geoffrey Winder currently serves as an Interim Co-Director at Dignity in Schools Campaign, CA, and as a Senior Advisor to the Alliance for Educational Justice and Californians for Justice. His advocacy journey began with the creation of his high school's GSA club, leading to early engagement with the Genders & Sexualities Alliance Network at the age of 16, where he eventually became the co-executive director.. Before his tenure at GSA, he launched the Racial and Economic Justice (REJ) initiative, integrating LGBTQ youth into broader educational and racial justice frameworks with an inclusive youth-driven policy agenda. He played a significant role in ending zero-tolerance anti-bullying policies, advocating for systemic changes prioritizing restorative justice, and shifting the narrative around LGBTQ issues in education. As Co-Executive Director of GSA, Geoffrey transformed the organization to better serve LGBTQ2S youth of color by adopting a "Decolonized Leadership" model, diversifying staff, and expanding advocacy reach. His dedication to shared leadership continues at Collective Struggle Praxis Advisory, where he advises organizations on co-leadership models, innovating organizational operations, governance, and building belonging for all identities. |
