Guest Biography
Day Al-Mohamed has a decades-long career focused on disability policy in a variety of legislative and executive arenas. She most recently completed her tenure as the White House Director of Disability Policy and currently serves in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) at the US Department of Labor. Outside of her policy work, Al-Mohamed is a regular host on Idobi Radio’s Geek Girl Riot with an audience of 100,000 listeners and is a Founding Member of FWD-Doc (Documentary Filmmakers with Disabilities). She is the creator of the recently released a docu-series of disabled leaders for American Masters/PBS digital, and is a proud producer of the feature documentary “unseen” on POV. Al-Mohamed was named a DOC NYC 2021 Documentary New Leader, was part of the NBC 2022 Original Voices Fellowship class, and was awarded a Disability Futures Fellow grant in 2024. Al-Mohamed is a proud member of United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 054-24-01 and currently lives in Washington DC with her wife, N.R. Brown, daughter Octavia, and guide dog. |
