Born in Oakland, CA, in 1948, Jamison Green always knew he would be a writer, a career goal that led to boundless adventure. He earned his M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Oregon in 1972, and has taught legal writing, skiing, and gender studies; performed in rock bands, percussion ensembles, and musical theater; worked as the first “woman” construction cable splicer for Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Company; and has written for, and managed writers and artists within, major high tech design and manufacturing corporations. He transitioned medically and legally from female to male in the late eighties and has led nonprofit organizations, changed anti-discrimination laws, reformed insurance exclusions and diagnostic protocols, earned a Ph.D. in Equalities Law, and published articles and books on many aspects of transgender health and rights.
