Olivia Hill is a trailblazing public servant, advocate, and voice for equality with over 40 years of experience in the utility industry. She was elected to the Nashville Council as the first openly transgender person elected in Tennessee’s history. A U.S. Navy combat veteran, Olivia champions LGBTQ+ rights, women’s rights, and the rights of all marginalized communities. While employed at Vanderbilt University, Olivia held every position in her division, from diesel mechanic to jet engine mechanic, controls specialist, and beyond, reflecting her deep technical expertise and leadership skills. Olivia is currently finishing a memoir of her life’s journey. She’s been recognized as an Out100 Honoree and as the founder of Olivia Speaks, she educates and empowers audiences across the country. In addition to serving on the board of the Nashville Opera, Olivia is a passionate advocate for sustainability, community development, and civil rights. |
